Some language.

Wow! They got some decent dash cams installed, at least as good as my $39 Ebay model. :-)

Sigh, why did he even get taken alive.
Because anytime an LAPD Officer shoots a criminal his career advancement ends. Then there’s the inevitable civil suit. He will be sacrificed by politicians and the media no matter what the circumstances.

Fortunately for me the LASD still tries to do their job. Even if the DA refuses to prosecute many crimes. He’s pandering to the criminals and their community so he can be elected governor.

I could go on, but you get the picture.

I remember that from the mid 80’s- how Gates and Block had opposing views at times. I especially remember their interview on LE response after an earthquake…

Block wasn’t the greatest Sheriff, Pitches was during my lifetime. But Gates was a disaster. In fact since Parker all LAPD chiefs have been piss poor.

The big difference is this. The Sheriff is elected by the citizens. The police chief is appointed by the mayor.

In fact, our previous Sheriff went head to head with the supervisors on numerous occasions. Sadly, he lost reelection after the supervisors all worked to oust him.

In other words, politics as usual.

I would have been under Block if things went as planned. Found out my wife was pregnant and withdrew from the process. Left LA area in 90. Didn’t miss it a bit.
