I have a house that I rent out and about ten years ago we had a single lady who walked to a bit of a different beat, that was our rentor..... The house is very much out in the country and she said she liked to leave the front door open, once getting home from work, until she got ready for bed. It made her feel more in tune with nature or some crap like that. Anyway, this all went on for first few months leading into the Fall of the year. She followed her routine one evening, then closed the door before retiring for bed. Just after turning out the lights, a noise made her sit up and turn the light on, only to see a large Armadillo staring at her. She screamed and called the Sheriff whose deputies came over and ran it out into the night. I think that stopped the nature communing.

It has a wooden door fronted by a storm door. She just propped them both open for a couple of hours each evening of the Fall. I didn't know she was doing it.

LOL. My son has the same attitude. He owns a company that does major landscaping work with among other things large rocks and boulders.
He said he really does not see the rocks any more. Just dollar signs.

Knew a girl in high school who had a pet skunk. She said it was "de-scented" but it still smelled like a skunk . . . not bad, but just enough to notice.

I will be moving the feeder inside. I tried to leave it out so our spoiled rescue cat can have a snack during the night. But he will have to adapt to day feeding inside.

Ok,,, if you have an outside stray you are trying to care for,, here's an idea.

Find a table,, with a center pedestal, and put the food up on it. Place the table away from walls or anything a coon or whatever could use to climb up on. The cat can jump up on a table,, while a skunk isn't a jumper. Coons can jump,, so if you start having a coon problem,, then you have to really work on making it unavailable to the coons!

Had a good friend that lived in an old farm house that had a porch and utility room added onto the house. He was a bachelor and liked cats so he installed doors for the cats in both the porch and back door to the house. He was watching TV one night and heard a noise, looked in the kitchen and there was a skunk eating the cat food. He retreated back into the living room and watched the skunk. It nosed around for a while and headed back outside. Everything was going fine and the skunk was headed towards the porch door when the tomcat came in. Things went downhill from there!! He had to move out for 2 months.

I tried to read this one to my wife and could hardly talk for laughing myself! :ROFLMAO:

Geee, a lot of young people around here must keep skunks in their cars. :oops:
I smell skunk in parking lots and by groups of kids all the time. :unsure:
