SA's new Echelon with a compensator. The barrel is cut like this

Can this be done with any gun. Thinking about the micro to reduce "snappiness"

If the barrel protrudes from the end of the slide, sure, simple DIY. If not, you would need cut the top of the slide to match which may be a bit more of a challenge.
