I need some help please. I have had to acquire a new printer and settled on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 all in one. I have loaded it on three of the four computers in use, two are running windows 10, one running windows 8.1, installation was a breeze. The last computer is running windows 7 professional which is an HP Elitebook that has no means of running a CD as the others do. I can't get past the last page agreeing to the terms to get the program installed. I've used the 123.hp.com/setup and googled other HP driver setup only to reach the same page I can't get past. My question is can the CD installation disk be downloaded on a flash drive to install the program. This thing is driving me nuts and I've tried installing it at least 10 times.

Thanks
Jim

Usually the CD can not be transferred onto a flash drive

The best is as stated above, get a simple cd/dvd reader/player that connect by usb

You can buy them on eBay for less than $20.00 shipped

Hi Jim, I've been using a program called Rufus-2.11 for awhile now, it works.
You can download a copy from https://rufus.akeo.ie/

You'll probably need to copy the cd as an .iso file to one of your computers 1st.

We have four printers on our two ranches. Over the years we have used a number of different brands. from our experience we now have four Epson brand printers, of different models, and are very happy with all four. Long ago we got rid of the HP printers for the reasons of poor quality, outrageous ink prices, and short life. We had Brother, IBM, and others, but the Epsons have been the best.

We also buy all of our printer ink from Epson, direct, prepaid shipping by Epson when ordered direct, for less than half the price of HP or other brands.

Ask a few of your friends and see if any of them have a CD reader that
uses the USB plug for the interface. I have one and it is slower than the
standard hookup, but just by a little.

Amazon has one for $15 if you have Prime.

Thanks Pat I did try a friends older unit but when I plugged it in the window pro 7 told me I did not have a driver to run this older machine. I do have a new CD ROM R/W on the way and should be here by Thursday to give it a go. I'll let you know how this works out.

Maybe go on line and Check the HP website for a program you can DOWN LOAD from their site!!

I bet they have it on there in their "Maintenance" section.

Thanks Pam I tried that several times with no luck.

Reloader I guess I just challenged here with rufus he doesn't understand me and I sure as hell don't understand him. You would have to jump on here with teamview and give rufus a go.....

Thanks anyway

Will thanks a boat load, why didn't you tell me all this before I went out and purchased another HP paper weight. My 8500 model did last 6 years or so and all the experts say you are out of date and almost dead after 3 years. You are right about the HP ink, I got the 8710 on sale but the standard inker set was $107.00 and the startup ink will only last half way through the test print pages when connecting to the other three systems. I'm ready to throw this hole system out in the trash and start over. I know at this point it would not be a good idea for me to return to the Office Max store I'd wind up I jail. The so called experts will tell you just about anything and when you get home/office its find out how it all works on your own. I going to give the CD reader a go and if it doesn't work I'll get some explosive and make a HP utube vid and give the Epson a go.

Jim
