I have mentioned here before that I pay for a Group health insurance policy program for my employees. Today I was in a meeting with the Insurance Company Representative who explained a new problem that has not received much publicity. I don't know how this will affect other states but here in Colorado:
There is a proposal on our ballot for the November election that, if passed, will amend our State Constitution to require a "Mandatory (not optional) Single Payer Health Insurance Plan", to replace Obamacare for all Colorado residents, since Obamacare is bankrupt in Colorado.
We were informed that if this passes, since it will became part of the State Constitution, It cannot be repealed without another Constitutional Amendment. Furthermore, we were informed that the details of the amendment will eliminate any private Insurance company from even offering Medicare Supplement plans, private Heath Insurance plans, etc. In fact will result in Health Insurance Companies no long able to offer Health Insurance in Colorado.
In short, the amendment on the ballot this year apparently will provide the ultimate Obamacare objective of finally destroying the Private Health Insurance Companies in Colorado and require all Colorado residents to buy the State required health insurance. There would be no option.
Since the Obamacare Exchanges in Colorado are bankrupt, and the new plan would have even greater costs, no doubt becoming bankrupt even faster than Obamacare, we seem to be on track for state bankruptcy if voters approve the measure.
