I've been sorting, checking, and doing some inventory updates on stored ammo. Lots of my reloaded ammo is stored in plastic coffee cans with data and count recorded on tags inside. Many of the cans hold 450-500 rounds of .223 and I got to thinking about what each coffee can was worth on an current OTC price level. The better grade of .223 is around $1 a pop so each coffee can is pretty darned valuable.
Don't even want to consider what those ammo cans full of bandoleers are worth.

its only worth what buyers will pay.
I don't load to scalp others. I load to shoot.
if I don't shoot it, it sits.
people will remember your prices long after they forget you.
I can attest to that being I run a range.
when things were good, people complained about my fair market prices on ammo at the counter.
walmart (35 miles away) was selling 410 skeet loads for 12.00+tax.
I sold mine for 15.00 and saved shooters from driving 70 miles to get some. (when they forgot theirs)
did they remember my kindness?
no, they stopped coming because I asked 15.00.
now ammo is rare.
I still charge 5.00 a box. everyones calling asking for ammo.
I wont sell it unless they shoot it at my club.
and they wonder why?
mo...keep your cans of ammo and enjoy em. unless your family is going hungry, (which I doubt) keep it.

CA with their new ammo laws has made it so we can only sell 500 per month. I came across a case of 1200 IMI 5.56 I forgot I had. Paid $500 if I could sell it for $1200 that is tempting but a pain. It would take 3 months and with the WuFlu BS probably 2+ hours for each transfer. In the end I'd just replace it when the prices come back down. Currently it's listed for $950 on Midway and out of stock so in reality it would take me 6+ hours to make $200. Nope ain't worth the time.

Well in the last several days I have reloaded .44 spcl and .44 mag to the tune of 275 rounds. Last time I looked they were going for $40/50. So made out good in my book. Found I had a bunch of .22 LR, that I rarely shoot anymore due to inability to find any at a reasonable price to replace what I shoot. It is cheaper to shoot my .44 and my .357 than my .22 LR.

I too, do a lot of reloading and since my wife has a tight leash on me because of the Covid-19 pandemic and I'm not a boob tube watcher. Been doing a lot of reloading lately and I would have had a fortune in .223(5.56), .308 Win, 9mm, and 45 ACP reloaded ammo if the last eartquake hadn't destroyed my workshop.
