Receiver mount: Iron Brigade Armory, Last 4 of SN stamped on bottom
Markings & Other information:
Iron Brigade Armory assembled DARPA XM3 Sniper Rifle system in STORMCASE iM3200 case.

• Stock is medium green in color
• Barrel is clean and well maintained. Last 4 of SN stamped on the left side.
• Included data book tracks 535 rounds of various military sniper grade ammunition.
• Weapon Record Books (2)
• Rifle case also includes:
  • Suppressor cover,
  • Suppressor carry pouch,
  • J. Dewey cleaning rod
  • serialized tool case w/ basic hand tools and torque wrench.

That must have some serious "history" with it at that price.

The sum of the parts are big,,,,,,,,,,,,, but not that big. Wow!

That NF scope in civi. guise will bring about 12- $1400. The mil-spec one brings nearly triple that. Every other component a specialty item.

But, the whole rifle is one thing, then the package or kit takes it to another level.

Then,, the history of this particular unit might be the icing on the cake.

I have shadetree copy & just love it.

Would parents know their snipers rifle sn?

I'll stick with my Gibbs 3-0-6 I got from Ron in PA... with the 1.5lb trigger.
Closest I could get to what my father carried and used in Korea back in 1950.

Well, it is an auction. Sometimes on auctions there can be no sane conclusion. I bought some reloading items at auction couple months back. People were paying $69/oz 'out the door' price' for silver bullion!!!

Yes it is an impressive package. I understand another one of these XM-3 packages CMP auctioned sold for over $25,000.., it will be interesting to see where this one ends up.

Nah....wrong era.....NF didn't start getting noticed for contracts until much later. Gunny Gibbs most likely would have had a older Redfield or an updated (late 80's/early 90's) Leupold on his M40 .....depending on the script......

Nothing at all.....but, if it were actual green "Ordnance Tape" that would escalate the price some

Looks as though the stock is 'cracked' below the forward scope mount. After seeing the entire package I go back to my initial statement of having a 'history'. It definitely is a 'one of a kind'!

maybe I'll ask my wife tonight if she will get it for me for Christmas. I guess I could scale down to the 308. I finally realized why the switch from 306 to 308 was because of the length of the cartridge. They keep telling me the ballistics are pretty much the same... I'd like to find out. The M1 Garand I bought for my father a few years back when we tested it ... put a cardboard target on a 12" oak tree about a hundred yards away... when I went to retrieve the target the fmj rounds had gone through that oak and then through another slightly smaller one behind it.
