It has been some time since I posted these pics. Clements shipped it back to me last year, possibly as long as 9 months ago. I had my first chance to shoot it this last weekend. It is my first custom that was line bored. I have no pictures of the targets but I have got to say that this is the most accurate handgun I have ever owned. After a short time sight adjusting I put four rounds in one ragged hole with a called flyer about two inches out. I quit right after that group, as I couldn't do better and I only had 5 rounds of my loads left for my BIL to try his hand.

What a beauty, the CCH is awesome!

I've thought about haveing a bar insert installed on a front sight for long range shots. Did you have a specific range in mind for the bars prior to their placement or did you plan on just sighting in with each one and noting the range?

No, mt I had no specific range in mind. Clements may have, but I have never asked him about it. It has been long enough that he probably wouldn't have remembered anyway. Since I just sighted it in, I really haven't had a extensive session. Need to load up a bunch of my favorite charges and maybe next time try it at a longer range.

I alway's wondered if the "smith used a formula, tried sighting in with temporary marks or just set it up and let the shooter make his own dope sheet? It sounds like you get to make your own dope sheet and that's half the fun in my opinion.

That is some of the most beautiful blue in that case coloring I have ever seen and I bet that pic doesn't do it justice.

The bars are just reference points. I have 2 on my 44Spl he did for me. I like to use a few 5 gallon buckets out in the field at between 200 and 500yds. It will amaze you how often you can hit the bucket with proper use of those extra reference points. I really like mine and when shooting at 50 yds or less in the field I never see them. Here is a pic.

COR, got a question for you. One of the things I like about the sight that David did for me, is that in low light conditions, if I lower the front sight until just the top bar disappears, the top of the post is aligned with the rear sight. Is yours the same?

I just ran over and pulled it out of the case and you are 100% correct. I never really picked up on that but it is the exact way you mentioned. Just as the gold disappears the sight is level out. Good to know. Thanks

Mr Clements fitted my stags beautifully too. he does great work. I really like the character on that left panel.

This is a full shot of it's 5 inch "blue collar" brother. It was designed as my workin' PPP, ala Taffin. A little less BBQ then that awesome case hardening! It's stags were also made "pain free" for my hot 250's at 950fps.

Wow, I really like your "blue collar" addition. If I had thought about it just a bit, I would have done the same thing to the one he has now. He is building me a 44 and if I remember correctly, it will look pretty much like my 45 but will be all blue with stags. I do have a 41 that is a subdued blue like your own, but I bought it that way and it had a bit of a rash that necessitated that finish. Stags do just finish it up right for me and David does an absolute perfect job in the fitting. That left panel is kind of neat with that "squiggly" looking snake.

Rats! Now I've gon and spent my gun money for an autoloader!

In the words of my more articulate grandson, that's an "awesome looking gun!"
