chamber cleaning a 44 carbine?

Does anyone here have a good procedure for cleaning the chamber on a 44 carbine?

If you don't wish to disassemble the weapon, you can insert the cleaning rod to the chamber, and insert the chamber cleaning brush at the open action...thread the rod onto the brush, and then pull the brush into the chamber using a twisting motion.

I use this gadget on my Ruger .44 carbine (and my Garand...)

The bristles aren't that stiff, and it works with .44 Rem Mag as well as .30-06. They sell a special brush for .44, I think. Twist CW with pressure to insert, twist in the same direction while pulling to remove. (So you don't unscrew the brush while it's in the chamber.)

Everything else I have can be cleaned from the breach...

When you say "dissassemble the weapon," I assume you mean separating the barrel from the action? I can't remember the procedure for this, but I don't think it's quite as simple as on a 10/22, and it probably requires a gunsmith to return the barrel to the exact right location.

I don't know enough about Garands to say whether my 44 is similar to that. The serial number has a 102 prefix, if that helps.

What they meant was, does the receiver look like a Mini 14 or a 10/22?
