Carbon Fiber bbl

I spotted this 10/22 carbon fiber bbl for $189.49 on the Optics Planet website. It appears to be something a backyard gunsmith can install. I'd like to use it to replace my SS Target heavy bbl. It's just getting too heavy. Your thoughts/comments pls.

Never mind; apparently it cannot be shipped to NY (not sure why).

Well I just looked at the link and all you can do is place the order on back order and expected delivery is next June... looks like they will probably ship if they get enough orders for one and so I think you should look in a different direction anyway...

That price is a bit high, they were in the $160 range last summer. Would bet they will come back in stock next year.

Not sure about accuracy, some carbon fiber barrels are decorative as opposed to tensioned for performance.

I'm assuming they can't be shipped to the Commie run States because they're threaded... Oooo, so SCARY!
A worthwhile addition though...Very light weight. I transformed my stainless LVT, which was accurate, but far too heavy, and with a barrel that is also overly long for suppressor use... To my second favorite 10/22 that I own. It's quite handy and light as a feather!
Also...Mine apparently didn't get the message that it wasn't supposed to be accurate though, as it'll do 1/2" @ 50 yards to the point of boredom with quality 22 ammo...
