I have some 45 colt ammo I loaded in 2003 using 2400 powder under a 250
250 gr. jhp with cci 300 primers.
I took them out today and shot 18 rounds.
After the first 6 rds. I emptied the cly. and some yellow flakes were left in the cases and in the barrel.
This happened with all 18 rds.
Any ideas ?

That's pretty common with 2400; it doesn't burn particularly clean. Switching to a magnum primer may or may not help. You'll want to reduce your powder charge and work back up if you do switch to magnum primers.

When I use 2400 in 357 mag I use small rifle primers & adjust charge as needed !!

I stopped at 1250 fps with a 175 gr boolit
