Interesting article. I think most people know intuitively how this works without needing to draw a graph tho. :)

Yet,, as of Jan 1st,, several more states have raised the minimum wage substantially.

My favorite retort to someone who laments the minimum wage is; "Want more than the minimum wags? Do more than minimum work!"

Many fail to understand that concept.

The irony is they would be better off on welfare.

Minimum wage was never meant to support a family, but welfare wasn’t meant to either.

We have a complex problem.

It wasn't that long ago that working in a fast food restaurant was seen as a way for young people to enter the working world and for seniors needing income to work part time. But some folks seem to think that flipping burgers is a lifetime career and "deserves" a "living wage". Thomas Sowell has written extensively about the negative aspects of minimum wage laws, but that would be beyond the understanding of most of the population who are economically illiterate.
