Cali car emissions update - Passed!

A while ago I asked advice for my daughter in Orange Co. who's 01 Saturn barely failed the emissions test. Thanks to advice given here her jalopy easily passed the retest. She had the oil changed and her mechanic blew out the air filter, she ran a tank of premium and a bottle of that magic stuff through it and right before taking it in she went out on the highway and did a little procedure recommended by a member involved in automotive emissions research to revive the cat. Wasn't even close to the limits.

Thanks to all for the help! She's had this car since 04 and it has to run 1 more year while they go through some job realignments.

I used to live in MS, early 90's. One could have a new car and would still have to get a 'safety check' I think it was called. I'm glad none needed here.

I could see starting some 'emissions' check after 7 years or so, even that can depend.
