Anyone having problems with the 25 &x2 mags not staying latched in the rifle when firing??
I have 2 of the 25s' and 1 of the X2s' and all fall loose from the latch after firing only a few rounds. I have tried them in a buddys 10-22 with the same results.
It seems, especially with the X2, that the loaded weight is too much for the latch to hold.
Am I missing something here??

I wondered myself thinking they must be pretty heavy.

Today I tried using just 10 rounds in the 25s' and they worked real well. Didn't do anything with the X2.
Heck, if I can use only 10 rounds, might as well use the factory mags. Cheaper too.

I recently tried some in my Charger and the BX25s work well. I don't have the X2 tho, so maybe it is a weight issue. I also have the TriMag adapter that uses 3 standard mags and it works great. I do know my loader for those mags doesn't work well on the BX25s tho... but they load easily enough by hand anyhow.

I have the tri mag adapter also, and have no problems with the set-up, but it is less desirable than a single mag.
I think I'm going to experiment with stronger springs behind the mag retainer. (If I can find something that will work in there)
I do believe that the offset (banana shape) of the 25 round clips cause a strain on the latch and the recoil (?) jars it loose.
I had one of the Hot Lips mags, but I never could get it to cycle a whole clip thru, so I don't know if it had the problem.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

As an oh by the way... I have the Eagle 30rd mags that snap together and don't recall having a problem with them together hanging in place. But, they are a lighter weight plastic I believe, but they also have 10 extra rounds added weight.

It just came to my attention: I have another way to test out this problem. I have a 77-22 that will use the same mag. Gonna' take it to the range and see if it suffers from the same malady, if not, I got something to look at.
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm giving up on the X2. That thing is a chunk and very unwieldy.

Not easily.... IIRC, the 2 outer sections are the same side, while the center is one piece. Look at a pic to understand my explanation.

I had problems with my BX25 not feeding. Until I read the directions and it says not to use subsonic ammo. DUH! who reads directions? worked fine with regular ammo.

Why don't you try just loading 10 rds in each side, and see how that works? Then increase the number of rounds if necessary to determine if it is a weight issue.

I would like to know how your testing turns out.

UPDATE!!
The X2 is a piece of junk (imho). Doesn't cycle well in either rifle (10-22 or 77-22) and is unwieldly to my feeling. It is also what it is, can't be taken down to make 2 25 rd mags.

After trying the BX25 in my 77-22, I decided that the latch spring in my 10-22 is too weak to hold the mag in when full. It stays in in the 77-22, but the feed isn't what I call stellar. Might improve with use. It's a shame because both rifles perform smoothly with the factory 10rd mags.
Oh well, live and learn.

250 rounds today with a BX25X2 no problem at all. Have about 15 BX25 and 2 BX25X2. have had a problem with 1 single. Great product for me.
