BX-15 magazines....Is there a difference from where they are purchased from?

Hello all, I have a strange one for you. Last year I picked up a BX-15 round magazine from a local gun store here in NJ. We have a 15 round limit here. I had good results from it. No failures what so ever....So I decided to purchase 2 more and got them online from C.T.D. because there were about half the price of the what the local store sells....Now all of sudden I am noticing FTF in the new mags. I've cleaned the 10/22 really good and the 10 round stock mags work really good.

Is there any chance that the mags I purchased from C.T.D. are made different than the ones that are sold to local gun stores? I know from experience that tools/snow blowers/mowers purchased at the big box stores are cheaper versions of ones sold at the Mom and Pop stores.
What do you all think?

they are the same, but as with anything else including firearms and ammo, there are some bad "batches" produced. contact ruger customer service and i'm sure they will make it right. often they replace, repair, or otherwise make good on any issues people have with their products.

Are you sure the ones from CTD are real Ruger magazines? There are other makers of aftermarket Ruger high capacity magazines and they have a variable reputation for quality and reliability. For 1/2 the price I'd look very carefully at what you really bought.

If they are genuine Ruger magazines, Ruger will probably replace them at no cost. If they aren't, return them to CTD and consider it a useful lesson in "you only get what you pay for".
