I came home on my first leave in '72 to find a color tv and I had been replaced by a dog.

Oddly enough they kept my beer can collection and all my GI Joe stuff. They moved 4 times after I left. Shortly after I left for boot camp they moved a short distance away to an apartment in MD. Then to Illinois, then to Iowa and finally KY. One time I visited them in KY. I was out of the Navy and well into my catching bad guys career. There were several boxes in the garage with my name on them. Mom said "those are yours we lugged them all over the place time for you to take them". That's when I learned most of my stuff was sold at garage sales. Guess nobody was interested in the beer can collection or vintage GI Joe stuff.

I have hundreds of LPs and cassettes. I use my phone in the car but my car has a CD player and a tape slot. Comes in handy when I want to play a CD that I picked up at the Celtic music festival.

I should probably look at selling my LPs and buying some ammo.

My listening is done in several ways. I have a nice Yamaha bookshelf set in the bedroom and I listen to CD's every night while going to sleep. Wife and I are old enough we sleep in separate bedrooms so it's not disturbing her. I have a couple thousand songs stored on my cellphone that I listen to while walking etc. I'm sure my CD count is over 500. I know that is insane because they have virtually no monetary value now, Vinyl albums still carry their value, but CD's are so convenient and the sound is great. I have them in alphabetical order by artist and if I scan them with my eyes they will stop on one that needs to be played.

I had a friend, now deceased, that had a nice collection of CD's and albums and he told me one day that he got rid of them all, I asked why and he said the wife didn't like to hear them. I'm afraid if that had been me the music would still be there and something else would have been gone.:ROFLMAO:

My C6 has Kenwood receiver and has a CD function but years since I’ve put on in. Once I put Zeppelin DVD in How the West was Won just to check it out and that was the last time

One of those computer dolts myself, but a friend helped me out transferring to home puter. It wasn't difficult, he even put an extra memory box inside to take all the CD's. Loaded the CD's( mine, friends and family) onto home unit then easily transferred to by wire from puter to phone, then to my Vette by plug in cable or cordless Bluetooth or Apple car play. My BMW it's by cord only. Use it for Waze also. Many head units the last ten years or so are capable, I believe. This was about ten years ago and likely technology has marched forward but not sure.
I think all iPhones have the the music note symbol, load the music, hit the red note and opens your music library. Easy once you do it

This is what blows my mind. My current Iphone has storage of 128G and I'm sitting at 82G used. My next one is gonna be at least a 256G storage. I think my first Iphone had a storage of 16G, maybe 32G.

iPhone has an app called iTunes. You can purchase digital copies of music over the phone using that app. You can also connect the phone to the PC via a cable or Bluetooth and transfer music from the PC (thumb drive, CD, download, etc.) to the phone using iTunes. I don't know if it's still like this but you want one phone hooked to one computer only because the Apple software will register that PC to that phone when you agree to terms, etc. May not be like that any more but it was back when my wife took TWO WEEKS to put all my CDs on my iPod for it to get stolen.

I have never paid for an app or bought digital music/media. I still will sometimes buy music on a CD if it's something I can't live without. I have several CDs I have not listened to more than once.

Ok, it sounds like I need to get one of my son's to help me with using my IPhone for music.
I get notices that my phone can't be "backed up to ICloud" because the storage is full, (Penny says it's the photos) but not sure.
Throw in not knowing how to put CD music or my antique records music into it,, well, sounds like something not easily done.

I will add that I HATE,,, truly HATE having an expensive device like my IPhone,, and then having to pay more & more for whatever "apps" that should be free. (Music) And I don't like having "apps" for every little thing I do.

Example; I have a Lowe's account. I get rewards money. I get an email saying I have these rewards. Yet,, I can't access the rewards with my email,, I'm told "just download the Lowe's app!" BS; I do not want my phone top get MORE junk, spam etc crap coming in on it. Fix it to where I can at least use my email, with a barcode that they can scan at the checkout, OR allow me to print a copy of it to be scanned by Lowe's.

I think you have a different problem. Your phone is likely not full, it's your iCloud account (that comes with the phone and has very little storage) is full. It's an offsite backup to the information on your phone. You can upload stuff off the phone to the iCloud account then delete it on the phone for space but still keep it elsewhere. The trick is they make you pay a monthly fee for the amount of storage needed to make it effective. My wife does so and it's on the monthly bill. It's $10 or less for enough storage to keep her phone backed up. I don't pay extra, I just wing it and hope. You can back up your phone to your PC yourself for free but you have to remember to do it and do it manually.

I am 80 years old and it hasn't always been easy trying to keep up with technology. We bought our first smartphones some years ago and just happened to buy Iphones., an Apple product I became very familiar with their systems and have come to really like it. To manage music on their products you need to have an Itunes account, which is free. You can store music that you own on it, you can buy music, either a whole album or just a song on it, which I do regularly. So I have it loaded on my computer and also on my Iphone, and they talk to each other. If I buy or load music on my computer it will automatically be on my cell phone as well.

Sometimes it is easier to have a younger person help you navigate through the process. As far as your phone being full, I think GasGuzzler is on the right track. Actually on your Iphone you can select Settings, General, Phone storage, and it will show you exactly how much storage you are using and what is still available. It will also show you exactly what your storage is currently being used for.

I pay the 99¢ a month for added storage. I got a notice that I was approaching my limit and they wanted more money to expand storage. I just went into my cloud and deleted a bunch of pictures that were meaningless, instead. If you pay more you can store more but I chose not to.

I enjoy music and have built a nice 2-channel system in my family room. The main source is a turntable, second most used is a USB port I connect an iPhone to, and third is a CD player.

I own around 400 CD's and a few hundred records. I have saved all my CD's as both lossless ALAC and FLAC files. I use an Apple Camera Connector that I plug my iPhone into and the Apple Camera Connector plugs into the USB port on my stereo preamp. This allows me to bypass the DAC in my iPhone and use the much better DAC in my preamp. The quality is identical to playing a CD on my CD transport that also just sends the un-altered digital signal to my preamp that does the DAC. (Digital to Analog Converter) My wife does use a streaming service and we occasionally connect it.
