I bought a really nice #1S today made in 95 and although the gun is spottless and hardly ever shot the previous owner put a 1 inch ventilated black pad on it. He did not cut the stock. It makes it just long enough to where it is uncomfortable for me. I was wanting to know id Ruger sold the original pads where I could put it back in its factory condition.

Thanks

do yourself a favor and have a limbsaver fitted to it. It makes them a joy to shoot and your 4570 will never have any collector interest anyway so a non factory pad doesnt matter.

I'd go with a .6" Decelerator pad if it were mine. Better (i.e. more recoil absorbing) than the original pad, but about the same thickness and "look".
