Has anyone installed one of these on a Super Redhawk or anything? What do you think about it? With my eyes I need some help so I am thinking about this item and thought I would ask the experts first.
I hope the Burris version is more rugged than the Optima. They (and their J-Point twins) had the reputation for dying very quickly if subject to any significant recoil, particularly if slide mounted on a semi-auto. I have an Optima and it's held up well but it's on a 22/45 and subject to no noticable recoil.contender":1g24f9g0 said:I have seen a few in USPSA competition. While I don't have that type,, i'd think that since it's a Burris it should be quality. And if competitors who use race guns feel it's good enough for them,, then it must be fine. Competitors can get stressed easily when their pet gun doesn't do good. So if there was anything wrong with them,, they wouldn't be showing up more & more on race guns.
I have a few other red dot types of optics. I even have an older Tasco Optima that looks a lot like the Burris. They can be quite nice to have when tired older eyes start causing issues.

If you need a more durable Red Dot, then the Ultra Dot would be a good choice.
