Cemetery service this morning, short but sweet. A great lady, 88 YO. On leaving (this is in the outback of north central South Dakota, at least 30 miles from any town of more than 100 people), we saw the first jackrabbit I have seen in nearly 30 years. Good sign. Also saw many thousands of snow and blue geese, and a rooster pheasant who thought he was pretty cool. Beautiful day, good way to say goodbye.

My MIL p[assed away last spring after 8-9 months of being no longer functional. Grouch Attack moved in and took care of her until she required more skilled care. I wouldn't ask that she lived longer considering her condition and this is the feeling of most of the family--some things just shouldn't be prolonged if there's no hope of improvement.

I am sorry. I understand your hurt, as my Mo-in-Law was a great Mother, Grand Mother and great Mother in Law.

God Bless you all.

With all the horror stories I have heard throughout my life about terrible in-laws, it always warms my heart to hear about good ones. Glad you had a blessed relationship with yours, and happy to hear you were able to give your MIL a good sendoff. And I do feel that we are given certain signs to help bring peace to us when we are suffering loss, whether it be a beautiful sunset/sunrise, a glorious rainbow after a storm, or some great wildlife. Prayers up for her family and friends, brother, and much love from our house to yours.

My condolences. My MIL died 21 ears ago and I miss her every day.
She was 96 when she died and everyday we had with her was a blessing.
If you miss her, count yourself lucky to have had her in your life. I know'
I'm lucky to have nothing but great memories of my MIL.

Very sorry for your loss. We hope that you all find solace and peace.

We buried my Dad under similar circumstances. I felt we were lucky to have a perfect Fall day with blue skies, a light breeze and warning signs everywhere that one season was ending and another one beginning. Just a reminder that Life is the same way for all of us, and we should look back on what we enjoyed and look forward to what is coming. I am a firm believer here that God will bring us together again someday, and I believe that you will spend time with her again as well. Glad you shared with us!

Condolences, my second MIL was a jewel also. She stroked after an CABG, and never recovered. She was buried 2 years later on a cold windy day. May your MIL RIP, prayers sent!
