I ordered a batch of 500 240g JHP factory blem bullets the other day. I wonder if anybody here can identify the bullet. The brand is not listed but for the price, I'd take it.

I want to say that it is a Hornady XTP. But doesn't the XTP have little serrations at the tip of the jacket.

Now below is how they appear out of the bulk bag.

For blems, they look mighty darn good! Better than some first quality bullets I've seen.

Does not look like any component bullet I am aware of. Many times blems are from a factory load that has been discontinued or specs changed and the bullet was never offered in component form. Could be from anyone as everyone offers a 240 grain JHP in a factory load.I got a bunch of 9mm blems that were labeled as expanding full metal jacket. Got them and there were stamped with a "F" turns out they were from a discontinued federal load that has now been reintroduced as their guard dog ammo but different weight bullet.

Well Mike, today I am hitting the range and am going to give them a try. Going to shoot with HS-6, 2400, and 300MP. If they are nice and accurate. that's all that matters.

I got these blems on sale at MidSouth Shooter's Supply for only 58.50 for 500!

Heck, that's less than many people charge for cast boolits!

As mentioned, no serrations, per XTP's usual. Check dia., Hornady goes a .001 larger than most. No serrations, maybe thats the blem ? stevemb
