I have a bugasalt gun and on both sides of it it says

"DO NOT SHOOT IN FACE OR EYES".

With flies being such small targets, how can I be sure I don't hit him in the face or eyes???? I'm not that good of a shot.

Your only option would be to shoot them from behind. Shooting something in the back just seems wrong or unsporting, however!

That's even a worse problem than you think, flies have compound eyes so it's as if they have several hundred eyes to avoid. Just wondering do you handload with sea salt or the more common Morton's?

Just thinking. Shoot pepper instead. You won't hurt their face or eyes but they will sneeze themselves to death.

The BUGASALT gun is a plebian weapon, using only free-flowing common table salt. The fancy-schmancy gourmet salt won't work. I gave one to my brother a couple of years ago, and he has really enjoyed it.

If I wanted to load some shotshells, I'd use kosher salt. I think the granule size would be about right.

My neighbor and I spent much about every late afternoon and evening n my porch last summer with a pair of those and our cold beers. We found that if you mix table salt and kosher salt it does great pattern and knock down. We also found that the cheap table salt from Wal Mart has too much fine powder anti caking agent in it and clogs up the mechanism. If it is humid, you need to empty the salt out of the hopper and tap the body of the gun and knock loose any caked up salt.
PS, if you shoot a wasp, hit him hard and keep shooting til he is down for good and you can stomp on him. Otherwise, it is like they know you are the one who shot at them and will attack, neighbor JT got stung on the top of his head that way.

Maybe he should have shot that wasp in the FACE. The heck with the rules ! That kind of doesn't make sense anyway. It's kind of like shooting a grizzly in the A$$.
