Breaking - Love Field shootout

If this follows the normal progression, we will hear a plethora of
speculation, followed by a bunch of HUH?! and then finally get
some factual information.

Let's just hope it is a "good" shoot and nothing else.

BUT, BUT, I THOUGHT AIRPORTS were "GUN FREE ZONES"; OH WAIT, THAT'S ONLY for LAW ABIDING CITIZENS; it doesn't apply to THUGS, GANG BANGERS, and ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Hope that 737TDY wasn't around any where close

Everybody in the terminal has to go thru security again.

That's the part which makes no sense.

The only way that should happen is IF the TSA screeners had been forced to vacate their duty stations during the ruckus......
I haven't been to Love Field in years. It has a very small terminal facility so I don't know where baggage claim is in relation to the screeners.

Nope, I'm off work today. Glad to have missed that mess. It is, of course, the headlining story on the local stations.

This one is fairly straightforward. Once the gunshots happened people ran every which way and some ran through security without being screened. Huge no-no. It taints the entire secure (read sterile) area.

Just to give an idea of the seriousness of this. As a person badged, FBI 10 year background check, SWA employee and work on the airplanes every day, I can not board an aircraft without going through security. Even if I go through security and then access the ramp I have to go back through security to board the aircraft for a flight, including downline flights for maintenance!

Edited to add: The Terminal at Love Field is brand new and totally different then the old one you would remember. It is quite modern and very nice. In my experience (which is a lot of experience) Love is the easiest terminal to get through security and to your flights.

They emptied the secure area, screened upwards of 6,000 passengers and back to normal within 3 hours. That's pretty dang good.

Here is a rundown of where/which states allow carry in airports. http://www.aci-na.org/sites/default/files/e._lee_thomson_-_april_17.pdf
