This is something I've been wanting to make for quite a while, and finally found my round toit. ;)

A loading stand, and a small sliding lid box for your balls, powder, and all that other stuff a BP shooter has to haul around with them. There's a couple different basic designs of these - this type; and the other type you take the cylinder out of the gun and mount it on a press. You can look them up on the net - Cabela's and others sell them. Both types run around $20 retail, but being a cheap old woodworker, I figured I could make one out of stuff I had laying around in the shop. I like this type since it folds down flat for carrying in your luggage.

This stand fits the repro .44 Navy Colt I have.

I like it. I'll bet you can sell them here too. I can easily imagine there are folks here who would like to have something built by you.

There's no way I could compete with retail. And simple ones like this are not hard to make with basic hand tools. Anyone can do it, with any kind of wood and a $2 hinge, and you don't even need a hinge unless you want a folder. :)

That looks more like an 1860 Army.

It ain't. Not a whole lot of difference between the 1860 Army, and the 1861 Navy. Mostly just the cylinder engraving. The original 1861 Navy was .36 caliber, but like I said this is a repro.
