Boy or girl

A few weeks ago I mentioned my daughter is expecting and going to make me a grandfather for the first time. They are going to have a “gender reveal” party in a month or so. Apparently sonograms are good enough these days to see the appropriate parts or lack there of. I remember when gender reveal happened in the delivery room.

We had our first grandson 7 months ago.
They gave the doctor specific instructions to not tell them the sex.
First, they didn't care what sex it was, they just wanted it to be healthy.
They also wanted the element of surprise at delivery.
I thought that was kind of neat.

Gender doesn't matter anyway since one can switch back forth if they want to. Insanity of course. It does seem a bit like cheating finding out the baby's sex ahead of time. But at least you can decorate the baby's room with the right colors before he/she comes home.

If God wanted folks to know in advance of the birth he would have put a site glass in place of a belly button.

When my daughter was born, the technology was good enough to see what the sex of the baby was. We choose not to know. All our friends thought we were crazy to not find out. We even had two names at the ready.

But think about it, where else can you have such a surprise? Absolutely nowhere. If it’s a boy or girl is the only last true surprise left in this world.

To each their own I guess, however I think it’s such a shame to find out before.

Don't get too riled up but you know these days... whether the little critter comes out with a dangler or not does not really determine its future gender.... they get to choose.

I have a niece that decided to be a nephew last year......

We all of course realize our DNA doesn't lie...irrespective of surgery and chemicals we remain what we really are.

I self-identify as an ocean going aardvark, no matter what my DNA has to say!
