I hate to come on here and do a classified ad out of the gate, but I put his up on another site and one of your mods recommended posting it here. I do hope nobody is offended.
Hamilton Bowen, out of Louisville, TN, is one of the top revolver pistol smiths in the country. Here's his ad for this revolver from when I bought it 4 years ago:
".45 Colt New Model Flat Top 'Long Hunter': This 5-shot gun, with line-bored cylinder, 4 5/8 in. barrel with Weigand DX sight base and all the other usual trimmings (see cat. no. RS07 at the Ruger Single-Action section of the website catalog for details) is built on a 50th Ann. .357 New Model Flat Top and will accommodate any of the +P+ hi-performance .45 Colt ammo listed in reloading manuals for the standard large-frame Blackhawks, Bisleys and Vaqueros. Fitted with optional Bisley-spur hammer and lanyard ring. White-outline/square-notch rear and white-line front sight blades. A good opportunity to acquire without delay a serious medium-size big-bore back-up/hunting revolver."
If you google "Bowen Classic Arms", go to the website, find "Big Bore Conversions for Ruger Single Action Revolvers", you'll get a little more info on this pistol. This is a highly customized medium frame Ruger New Model Flat Top, originally bored for .357 Magnum. Some of the work performed includes new barrel, new sights, new non-fluted cylinder, action and trigger work, Bisley-type hammer, high polish, fitted grips, etc.
An example of "+P+" ammo is the 300gr, 1450fps from Buffalo Bore. This revolver is an excellent lightweight back up for dangerous/big game. The lockwork is smooth, the cylinder lock up is completely tight and the trigger is excellent.
Gorgeous polish/blue. Light turn ring on the non-fluted cylinder (can be seen in the pic). Some blue wear on the front of the cylinder from cleaning. A cylinder re-blue would bring the revolver back to "like new" condition.
A Mernickle belt holster and a copy of Bowen's book "The Custom Revolver" come with the revolver.
$1,900 cash, firm, FTF Nashville/Knoxville/etc., for TN Resident/TNDL only. Shipped to your FFL dealer elsewhere or out of state, +$50.
