Just bought this un:

It had a el-cheapo Bushnell scope on it that I can barely see through. Just ordered a red dot, weaver base, extended mag release and new bolt release for it from Midway.

I had one just like it I bought years ago at Wally-World. I was half way hoping this was the same gun, but alas, different serial number.

Should keep my other one company:

WELL.........Counted the other day and came up with more than I remembered. Now addressing whether this is an affliction, or a collection. None are the plastic parts or painted version.........Plenty of "old models" to keep me happy. MJ, my Son, seems to have only half as many, but he's MUCH younger than I...........Fun guns! 8)

I don't know what it is about the 10/22 but every time I sold mine I end up getting another one.

Bought that same model at wallyworld in the mid 90's, still have it, came with a sling, I don't think of it as being old.

Very nice!
Understood about the lure of the 10/22!
Something came over me the other day and again I'm on the hunt. This time searching the local market for a good used stainless/synthetic 10/22. Our others are blue and wood.

I have one just like it. The original "Wally World Special"

Only problem I have with it is the stock front sight is way too short. I ordered a front sight off of a .22 magnum that is a bit taller and it shoots much, much better.

Have been looking for the international version of the same gun. Kicking myself for not buying them when wal-mart was liquidating them at $140 around 1995 or so.

It can certainly become habit forming. 17 here currently and I have at least 3 more builds planned.
