Bolt upgrades

Has anyone here used CPC (Connecticut Precsion Chambering) for bolt and receiver work?
I think they are asking around $190.00 for a trigger, bolt and receiver rework. That is about what I paid for the rifle to begin with! Is it worth it?

Worth it?

That all depends on what you're expecting from your 10/22.

I have several bolt/trigger groups and one barrel reworked by Randy at CPC.

The bolt reworks do improve the accuracy, but the barrel re-work does even more (set-back and re-chambered).

The trigger job makes it easier to achieve all the accuracy you paid for with the other two re-works.

If you think you want a replacement barrel in the future, just get the bolt/trigger group combo.

As 9x19 said, it's all dependent on if it's worth it to YOU and what YOU want out of the gun. There's a LOT of options depending on what direction and result you want.

I have Volquartsen kits in most of my 10/22's and am very happy with them at 1/4 that price. This is the only modification I have made for some of my rifles and my Charger handgun. I have a Tactical Solutions lightweight barrel on my squirrel rifle alond with the Volquartsen kit and a Hogue stock. One is completely tricked out with a Kidd Match barrel and a Kidd drop in trigger group. The Kidd trigger group alone is over $200.00

As said, depends one your wants and needs. If mainly a plinking and hunting gun with factory barrel and you just want to improve the trigger, you probably only need to add some after market parts. If going for a target/match gun then you have tons of options.

CPC has been at the game for quite a few years and is very well reputed. Only you can determine if it's "worth it".
