Pardon me for the interruption, but just what is a boat paddle stock? I have a 10-22 stainless from 1997 and it has a black plastic stock. Is that what it is called? Thanks, Big Larry

I've never actually seen one in person, but have seen pictures and it's so true how they got the nickname "boat paddle" kinda funny really.

It really sorta' looks like a boat paddle, and would work well as one if one lost their canoe paddle. I have one, and it is almost indestructible, is weather proof, and very light weight. Don't know why they did away with them. Great woods stocks.

Just look at the rear of the stock,

10-22 stocks don't have the inserts, but the tail ends look like the picture.
here's a correct picture.

Thank you. Yes, that is the stock on my stainless 10-22, and a mighty fine carbine it is. I bought two on sale and later gave one to my Grandson. He loves his too. They were $184.94 OTD back in 1997 at Hurst Ace in St. George, Utah. He scoped his. I keep mine by the door loaded with birdshot. Thanks all. Big Larry

Hey, that's neat. I didn't know that the 10-22 stock was different than the 77-22. Today, I have learned something. The day is not lost! Thanks
