From the pics I've seen, the blueing on the Lipsey's flattop seems nicer than that of the standard convertible Blackhawk. True? Or just the pics? Is the Lipsey's gun worth an extra $100?
 
The grip frame is all steel so it's gonna look better than anodizing or that paint on the aluminum frames. They are super nice guns, and I can find nothing at all to complain about on mine, unlike the new stainless Bisley.
 
It's a good gun but has some flaws in the way it is finished that I don't see in the little flattop. Also, the grip fit is terrible. It's still a lot of gun for what I paid and I don't expect the level of perfection seen in a Freedom Arms.

It would be best to get rid of it now, before it multiplies. Soon after I got my 45, a flattop 44 Special showed up.
 
Yes, I agree.
Had a Lipsey flattop and the finish was excellent.
Just picked up a standard blue convertible, made in 2013, and the finish is horrible. Blotchy and lots of tool marks.
