When I was a little younger, I used to get catalogs from Robert Abels, in New York, an antique arms dealer.

In one catalog was a Colt Single Action, belt, holster, death warrant and a few other artifacts, all pertaining to Black Jack Ketchum.

My wife and I probably drove down that road in the picture, driving around out of Tucumcari, NM several years back. There was a marker about where he was caught.

Bob that is the same road that the marker is on. The state hwy from Tucumcari to Ragland n.m. The museum at Folsum, N.M. has a lot of stuff about Blackjack. Many photographs and stories, Folsum Point stuff, the great flood and etc. Dr.C

I thought so. In fact I recall the story about his head coming off when they hung him. Cool pics in an area with great history!

It's my understanding, that when He was on the
gallows, and asked to step out on the trap, he
turned and said, "Yuh reckon it's safe?"

Quite a testament to his sense of humor, I'd say.
