Slap on some replacement grips, put in a new cylinder release pin and clean up the rust... then you have a $300 - $400 SBH

Get it re-blued and put it in a proper box and $600 - $700... maybe!

My post should have said it would be worth $350+ in parts the way it is. I'd pay that and be happy.

Lets see, in PARTS, a set of OM Super parts (just for the conversion parts) is around $150. A steel gripframe, $50-$75. A cylinder, $50. Base frame with a barrel, & other assorted parts, say $75. That totals around $325 or more on average.
So, a good $275-$300 for that gun, add a used set of grip panels for about $25, and a proper basepin latch for maybe $15. Then, clean it up, and it'll make an excellent shooter for you.

Thanks
Not looking to sell, was just seeing if it was good enough to get back into shape so my 1957 .357 Flat Top has a buddy.
Where wood I look for a correct basepin latch and grips ?

Hylander post a WTB here in the classifieds. Someone will come up with what you need. Maybe jussbad will see this.
Little oil and 000 steel wool and you will have that beauty ready to show off :)

That gun would clean up really nicely. Like eric conrad said, a little oil and steel wool on the rusty spots will do wonders. The rust doesn't appear that bad at all and a base pin latch assembly and a pair of Super grips and your in business. A little project can be fun.

Yeah, it is a shame that someone didn't take a little better care of this, but oh yes, absolutely this is worth the project time and the little expense it may take. Hit the rust with oil and steel wool, replace the grips, find that pin (maybe call Ruger for help with that?) and reblue. Won't cost you much, and I find it to be very rewarding and inexpensive therapy. Current value? Probably just south of $300 in this area. If it comes out a little less than perfect, all the better, makes for an excellent hunting sidearm.
