A couple of years ago I realized I had made it to the age where folks / friends did not need to give me anything on my birthday... I've already got too much stuff and need to seriously start getting rid of some of it. So, I came up with a new tradition, I will give friends gifts of some sort on my birthday or near to it. On Saturday I will start my 68th trip around the sun and to celebrate this and thank the folks here I'm offering a Karma that I will pick a name next week. (out of town over the weekend and will probably be distracted.). The winner will receive a book... I've mentioned parts of this book numerous times here...

A Third Face... by Samuel Fuller...
Under the title it says, " My Tale of Writing, Fighting and Filmmaking... and he is not even close to exaggerating... he did it all ... from crime reporting in New York City in the 30's, enlisting in the Army in late '41 and going from North Africa up to Italy and through Europe and then coming home and making movies.... I can also tell you like any old gezzer telling a tale he 'drops names' all through out this book of famous people he knew.

Okay, last call for entries to this one... surprised more folks did not jump on it. It is a great book... also I'm kind of confused who has asked to be thrown in the hat and who doesn't... Kevin, do you want a chance? Also, txramfan, & gigalligan, ?

Oh and I spent my birthday back down home trying to stay cool in the heat on 'the ridge' here in S.C. I grew up on a farm here.... If I went outside to take a leak... in the front yard it ran to the Edisto river and in the back yard it ran to the Savanah....
