Dang. My Cimarron "old model P" in 45LC is just a junior high schooler compared to you high schooler's. There's some serious blood draining hole makers shown here.

460 gr hardcasts seem to shoot through 15-16 gallon jugs of water with 9-10 of the first jugs ripping open with cavitation. I’m sending these out at 1011fps from my 4.6” barrel and could get another 200-250fps but it isn’t needed. I’ve yet to recover a projectile on game animals. It carries nicely in my chest harness for hunting. I designed the bullet mold, cast and load for it, modified and bedded the red dot base, and made the grips. My friend made my holster rig for it which I could have done too but we were having a baby about the time I needed the rig done so I was glad to send him some business and not have the project; he did a great job with it too. This is my favorite hunting gun.

Here’s the projectile next to a Kieth style 240gr SWC…

And my preferred method for carry in the woods, brought to me by Cache River Leather…

Beautiful! What wood is that, if I may ask?

Thank you! I can't put it down. Lol
Well eventually you'll need a meal and to wipe the drool off your chin from staring at it. When that day comes, I'd suggest putting it down in a box with my address on it. ;)

Sincerely a lovely looking gun that's as classy as anything anyone could build and in the quintessential single action big bore caliber. I love all the blue in that particular case hardening. It really contrasts with the warmer color tones in the antler well. If it were mine it would see a lot of action in the woods and some tender love and care in between. I'd be tempted to take the screws, pins, and cylinder pin and give them a blue niter finish just to pick up on the blues in the case hardening some more but it certainly doesn't need that finishing touch.
