Big bore packin' guns....let's see 'um

What big bores, 44 and bigger, and 4" barrel or less do you pack either conceal carry or in the woods or wherever.

Here are some of mine:

625 45 Colt 4" and 629 44 Mag 3"

Redhawk 45 Colt 4"

And lastly a Kimber 45ACP 4"

OOPS! Forgot about the Stainless 44 Spcl Flattop, 4 5/8"

Those are "Craig Spegel" grips. You can probably google his name for more info....

Thanks Dave, As a reward for the additional info on the grips, here's a photo relevant to your thread. Colt Officers ACP in Ultrabright stainless. It's an older photo. the grips have been changed for wood as the rubbers were again, not my cup of tea.

I had one very clost to that model too. I didn't like the little scratches showing up on it all the time. I wish I had it back! Kimber came out wiht the ultra carry with all the bells and whistles and I liked the looks so much that I took my gun and put all the nice little do dads on in and added some cocobolo grips to it. It was stunning to look at.

I'll have to agree with Otony, that 500spl is extraordinary. There's just something about octagonal barrels.

This S&W 624 .44 Special spent many days on my hip when at my parents' log cabin and property in the woods of Wisconsin.

This Ruger Blackhawk .44 Special will be my backup on my hip one week from today while wild boar hunting. It'll be loaded up with Keith 250 grain bullets backed by 17.0 grains of 2400.

Here's one of mine - S&W M-29-2 4" with Randall model 23.

Here's another one, although I guess technically the barrel is a little long at 5 1/2". It's a Gallagher custom NM that started life as a .41 but is now a .44 with an OM Super cylinder and Douglas barrel. It now has a blue steel gripframe rather than the brassie pictured.

Both Colt SAA's and both chambered for 45 Colt / 45 ACP. 3 1/2" and 2" barrels.

Mr Fedex just dropped this off It's a four inch barrel 510 GNR. It started out as a Ruger Superblackhawk with the round trigger guard. I have one with a five and one half inch barrel that is my favorite. But I think this will be in the running :wink:

tombstone it just dont get much better than that in a ".50" as far as I'm concerned. Please tell us more like bore and groove size, rifling twist, also bullets you shoot along with velocities. Man that sure is sweet and looks like it would be great fun to shoot.

Wish I had more data got more fun guns to shoot and not enough time. I turned down .500 S&W brass and have only shot 330 grain cast bullets with Unique shooting at 1100 fps. It is a great match to shooting its brother the .500 Max with an Octagon barrel.
