It's time to buy more bullets for my .30. I've been loading 110gr round nose but I think I want to go heavier. Does anyone have any experience with a 125gr bullet in this gun? 125 is the next size/weight up.

Is this intended for revolver or rifle use?
I'm away from my books and data this weekend so I'm likely no help.

Look at Accurate Powders data.
They show a 130gr Lyman #311410 using #9, 4100 or Ramshot Enforcer.

In the Blackhawk you are not limited in bullet weight at all, within reason. Buy some and give them a try. You can't hardly go wrong. :D

Have you looked at these? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/491932/sierra-pro-hunter-bullets-30-caliber-308-diameter-125-grain-hollow-point-flat-nose-for-tubular-magazine-box-of-100
I shoot them in my 30-30. Very fine bullet. No data from Hodgdon though.

Yea, that is the bullet I'm considering.

I don't cast, and generally prefer jacketed. As such there are websites that I keep forgetting are out there. After being up half the night reading I did find one thread of a guy that shoots cast 122gr in his Blackhawk with very good results. I also found out I need to start buying 32-20 brass for this thing

Thats exactly what I do, shoot 32/20's in my NM 30 Carbine, even shooting bullets sized up to .312" & .313" although you have to work you way up to it. Accuracy is just fine.

The OM cylinder is recessed and the rim of the 32-20 is too big to fit in that recess. You could have the cylinder machined back to remove the recess, if you want to go to that expense.
