Better than TV

Our salt water Reef Aquarium. The wife and I built the cabinet together, and the 250 gal tank was custom built for us. One of the best and most mature privately owns reef aquariums in the NW we are told. It was featured in Aquarium World magazine. In the back, against the wall is our latest build, a fish only tank where we will quarantine fish for 8-weeks prior to adding them to the reef, and for coral eating fish you do not want in the reef tank. We just finished it, except for some baseboard work I need to finish up on.

Cars stopping in front of the house and backing up to get a better look, is quite common.

Very nice tanks. What kind of critters are in the coral reef tank? I bet they are a lot of work to maintain?

Beautiful! I used to keep 6 tanks myself,,, but all freshwater. Due to the many trips I used to take, I didn't trust anybody else to properly maintain a saltwater tank. But I could have stocked it with anything I desired. I was scuba diving a lot more back then, and learned from a friend how to collect specimens for a tank.

It's a safe bet that you don't have small children at home. That would last about 5 minutes in my house. :( It is pretty though.

Grew up with fish tanks and had them even after I was married (the second time). I finally gave up, much for the same reasons Contender stated. Never got into the saltwater as they were even harder to maintain then the freshwater. I and the wife were gone a lot and it was difficult to find anyone that would maintain them as was needed. They are great to watch.

I am a Sumper from way back. Never had a tank as nice as yours though. If your wife knows what a Sumper is, we probably post on the same forum. 8)

That is absolutely gorgeous.
There is nothing more relaxing than an aquarium in the home.
You folks did a beautiful job.....
By the way, staring at a rock is better than tv.
We shot ours about 3 years ago and haven't missed a thing. :lol:
