Best 10/22 medium sporter barrel !

Looking for a 10/22 barrel that is between the factory taper and the .920 bull... Midway, Brownells don't appear to advertise them.

At one time Acusport? had an exclusive wearing a medium-weight taper (20 inch?) smooth, no-sights barrel. That's the one. Externally it looks like a 77/22 barrel w/o sights to me.

Anyone have one gathering dust - or a source ?
Might consider an as-new condition complete gun as-described...

Have a few here in various lengths. One is an ER Shaw, the other three are Green Mt. All have a slightly diff taper than factory and did require a small amount of sanding the stock channel to get them to fit. Without doing any serious ammo testing thus far, the 16" GM one shoots the best but only slightly.

Found two blued Heavy Taper Barrels. These will require inletting of the stock.

I love the Clark midweight. Order it any length up to 21.5". Better than GM or Ruger and probably equivalent to the Shilen varmint contour.

Ruger models #1234 in stainless and Model # 1235 in blued, both are 20" tapered barrels w/o sights and sporter style hardwood stocks. The barrel taper is between the standard and target barrels, just as you describe. You are correct that they are/were both Acusport exclusives.

Aye. The 1234 and 1235 WERE available. I had the blue/black model years ago and swapped it off to a landowner for goodwill to hunt his tree farm. Took a fat 8-pt. and he somehow neglected to call me the following year... ...seems he didn't REALLY want me to take such a large buck afterall?
Iron sights are near useless for aging small game hunters and the medium taper barrels add class riding a nice walnut Deluxe stock. I must make one... without breaking the rifle budget. No sense in looking at $300+ barrels for me.
