Bearcat problem

While at he Eastern meet I mentioned this but failed to follow up. When I bought my stainless Bearcat the trigger screw seemed to be loose. The gun functioned fine as it was but as soon as I tightened the screw the trigger was very hard to pull and the hammer was very difficult to cock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have NOT disassembled it yet to look at anything.

Fox Mike, It sounds like the threads on the trigger screw are going into the frame far enough to contact the side of the trigger and impead it's movement. Another thing to look at would be the "straightness" of the "rod" part of the screw. Since it doesn't thread into the oposite side of the frame, there should be no danger of the frame being compressed by the screw as in the hammer screw "design". I would back the screw out to where the gun acts normally. I'm not a real fan of locktite so if the screw is not backing out with normal firing, I would leave as is. If the screw is loose enough to back out with firing, then I would put a very small drop of "blue" locktite on it's thread and reinsert it for normal operation!...............Dick :wink:
