Bearcat fiber optic front sight

Here's a little experiment, we'll see how it works out. I've had this Stainless bearcat for a couple weeks, and just got back from a few days carrying it around the woods. Have about 600 rounds through it, and it shoots nice groups, but was shooting low right. I tweak of the sight has the horizontal right on, THEN in my impatience, I went a little crazy with the file and turned shooting low into shooting high.

I'll be ordering a new front sight at some point just to have, but in the meantime, I used a triangle file to put a channel down the top of the now flat front sight, and glued a small fiber optic on top. A little shaping, and I've built the front sight back up with a green fiber optic. Don't know if it will last, or how it will shoot yet, but I like the way it came out.

Let us know how it stands up to repeated firings. Even after a return to the Ruger factory, where they replaced the barrel, as well as all the 'innards', my SS Bearcat still shoots right and high, although not as bad as it originally did. Perhaps that would be one way of making the front a wee bit higher.
