Bbl Thickness

Is the barrel on the new (maybe not so new) Mini-14 Tactical thicker than the Ranch and other styles of Mini-14?

No, all the current .223 models use the same barrel, except the Target Mini.

but all are thicker and better designed that the thousands of 'older' models out there.... I believe all the 'newer' models start at 580.... serial numbers.
