I like the 10/22 reliability it has.
It is heavier than the M&P because is is aluminum not plastic.
A very fun gun to shoot.

I really enjoy mine... I have a red dot scope on top.. no magnification and will be switching that out with a 3-9 here soon. I have added a fake Grip Pod to the front to help keep weight down instead of a true bipod. I have also added a single point sling.
As stated its heavy. It does not have iron sights. but it is a 10/22 so you can tune it up, down, sideways, whatever you want with all the after market stuff.
All in all its a fun rifle to shoot and good for smaller kids or women becuase of the adjustable stock. Dont hesitate to get one

That horrible, evil, little devil is dancing on my shoulder. I'm starting to be wanting one. (Bad English; I know, but expressive.)

I own a SR22 rifle. It performs flawlessly, and is as accurate as any other 10/22. It's all metal, and I never thought I would have any interest in the S&W.
But...I recently shot the Smith. It also shot perfectly. And, out of the box it has a far superior trigger than any out of the box 10/22.
My nod still goes with the SR22, but if a feller wanted a Smith instead, I would find little fault with that.

I own a S&W M&P15-22 and like it a lot. Out of the box, once sighted in, was accurate and reliable with about 150 or more rounds fired, no failures. I would guess personal preference would be the key. The SR22 is a fine rifle and you wouldn't be disappointed by either choice.......
