Replaced the factory base pin on my Bisley with a Belt Mountain variety. It dry-fires and the cylinder cycles without binding, but I have one problem. After squeezing the trigger and the hammer falling, I release the trigger and it hesitates before it goes back into the forward position. What is the reason for this?

(I lost my Belt Mountain installation manual.)

I'd suppose that your trigger is a couple of thou too wide or the trigger slot in grip frame is a bit snug. Consequently the trigger isn't resetting right away. I'd inspect those areas with a "loop" and polish with some sorta fine emery cloth.

It could also be a little bind between the transfer bar and the hammer........

Clean all components with some strong solvent then "paint" 'em with a felt tipped marker. Cycle the lockwork a bunch of times and inspect.

Upon second thought.............. I bet you are experiencing "transfer bar pinch".
