Kids got me a gift certificate so I went shopping at the B&N in Augusta, ME. Less than a dozen related to firearms and only a half dozen more about hunting. Most interesting is that they were all on a top shelf that at 5”8” was a stretch, plus ALL had bindings out so the covers didn’t show. Like the old days of “men’s” magazines at the news stands. Sad commentary. Got Sweeney’s AR-15 maintenance and repair book plus a car book. Not likely going there again soon and will be suggesting restaurant gift cards for future gifts.

My youngest is an avid reader. He goes to B&N a fair amount. Well, he used to. Now, he's a bit more of an online shopper.
But I agree,, that B&N have not been "gun friendly" when it comes to their book selection. I got tired of looking for something the few times I went in there. AND the fact that back then,, they posted against CCW. I haven't been in a B&N in over 8 years.

I had been, key word, a B&N member for many years. Until they started transitioning away from books I like to more kids stuff, Starbucks, etc. I go to Half Priced Books, and generally find what I need, or search the internet, Thrift Books, Abe Books, Goodwill, etc. I usually find used or new books at a better price, free shipping and sometimes no tax. B&N will be going out of business before too long.
Yeah, even Amazon sells used books sometimes at really good prices. My daughter likes Barns and Nobel, but they are expensive! Like Tazbigdog said, I don’t see them in business much longer. Anyone remember Borders Bookstore? And a few other bookstores are no more also. That one in the mall from back in the day.

B&N have some great books & some hard to find!
There is one Barnes and Noble here in the city that I live at, and it is the only bookstore available. There is a "half price" store but the books are not categorized at all, just piled on tables with no rhyme or reason. I can't imagine having the patience to look through the thousands of books just hoping to find one of interest and possibly saving a few bucks. My wife and I go to Barnes and Noble fairly often. But sometimes I just look at the "New Books" sections and if I find something that I am interested in, I look it up right then and there on my phone, on the Amazon site and if there is a big difference in price I order it from Amazon. My wife really like their "toy" section for gifts of our grandkids. They carry lots of interesting stuff for kids that we would never see in the big box stores like Walmart, Target or Farm and Fleet.
