Today, actually early this morning, a pawn shop/gun store about five miles from me was robbed. I received an email from ATF. Anyone else ever received such a notice?

"This is an important message from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A Federal firearms licensee in Harford County, Maryland has experienced a burglary that resulted in the theft of firearms. A vehicle was driven through the front of the business and firearms were taken. Please ensure the security of both your inventory and property and report all suspicious persons or activity to your local police department. Additionally, notify ATF at XXX-XXX-XXXX if you find any of your firearms missing, lost or stolen."

That is correct, when something like this happens the ATF will send out emails to all FFL's (C&R's also because they are in the ATF database with contact info also.). Just a general warning to the dealers to be aware of what has happened. In the past, the crooks have taken stolen guns to FFL's in the general area and tried to sell them (no one ever said crooks were smart)
