My son ask me for advice on selling his Redhawk Hunter. He wanted to know what to ask for it. Its an older version , 44mag , blued , with rings and the 7 1/2" barrel. Action is tight with a good single action trigger pull. Its showing some holster wear at the muzzel and cylinder edge. Original walnut grips , and box. It shoots verry well. With todays market ... I'm at a loss as too what the value is. I suggested 550 , am I way off ? We live in W. Pa , revolver prices seem to have finally leveled off. Seems they're running 10 to 20 % above what I would call norm. Most of my reference books suggest anywhere from 450 to 525 , but they're 3-4 years old ... again with todays market ... ? Any suggestions ? :?:

If you have a Gunbroker account you can check completed auctions and see what things are actually selling for. 2 have sold recently, (April), both stainless and both with Leupold 2x scopes, $705 & $755.

ArmedinAZ. No account here. Thanks for the info. I was just looking at GB, out of 7 pages, only found 1 blued hunter version ...said " has light rust and scratches ". Starting bid was 650 ... Are the blued hunter versions somewhat rare ? Saw several blued Redhawks , no hunters though ( cept the one ). His has a 2X Burris on it as we speak ... I thought it wud sell better without the scope. I told him to sell it seperatly. I've bought/sold many T/C contenders and encores , seems they always sell better if ya break scope and barrels. Generally ya get more money that way too.

I agree, $550 is a very fair price for a 'blued" gun with a bit "muzzle wear, etc) percentages in any of the 'blue ' books drops drastically with the percentage of wear....extras, may make up any differences. also time of year, and locale, causes price fluctuations...... start high, you can always come down. and do NOT "throw in any extras" for 'free'.............and NEVER forget any shipping, transfer, insurance fees ,etc.......of course double check YOUR Penna. transfer rules.........

Sounds good , appreciate the feed back. He listed it today for 550 , with box and rings. Says he's listing the scope ( Burris 2X ) for 150 on another site. We'll see how it goes , Thanks

And yes , rugerguy, he's good for the transfer. Thanks for mentioning that ...lot of people forget about that. Rules and more Rules :D
