Just purchased a new AR556. Brought it home and looked it over. Pulled charging handle back, raised it up and dry fired. Went to pull charging handle back and bolt would not budge. Charging handle was releasing but could not pull it back. Tried and tried with no luck until I tapped the butt on the carpeted floor. Then I was able to cycle the bolt back and forth until I dry fired it again. Then same result. Thought it might be gummed up with preservation goo. Disassembled and cleaned. Lubed it as well. Reassembled. Same result.
ANOTHER firearm to return to Ruger. Getting tired of this. 5 of the last 10 new Rugers I have purchased have had to been returned for one issue or another. I think I am done buying new Rugers for the foreseeable future...
