Appliance paint for electric range

I have a discolored ring around the large burner. Anyone have good results using this type of paint?

Wish I could help, but I've only used it on my gun sights.

I painted the whole top of a chest-type freezer with it a while back and it actually turned out pretty good; but then, I didn't have much to lose considering the top had a good bit of surface rust on it. I didn't take time to remove the rust because no one was going to see it anyway, but the paint finish was surprisingly even. You may have to paint the whole range top; might be hard to get a perfect color match if you just try to do an area.

I'd look for an automotive type heat resistant paint at the local O'Reilly's or Auto Zone. I've used VHT brand on Harley engine and tranny cases with excellent results. It comes in a few different colors and in glossy, flat or wrinkle finish.

Be aware that stove tops come from the factory with a porcelain (glass ceramic coating) which is not a DIY repair. I suspect you will not be able to get a high temperature paint over the top of a porcelain coated surface to stick for very long. I know that porcelain chip repair paste quickly comes off on even cold sink surfaces.

Painting concrete has never worked for me either even with an acid etch and using epoxy paint.
