A dear freind is terminal andhas asked about us adopting her mature Russian Blue. He is a sweet cat with extended fangs and looks fearsome, although fearless. He has spent his life on her pocket farm, fending off anything smaller than a coyote and probably a few of them too! He is smart, herding the chickens into the coop when danger nears...

We have rescue cats and dogs so acclimating to our ten-yr old male fluffer may be the biggest challenge, as long as we can keep him from walking away...

Anyone have experience with this breed ?

We have one (at least the vet identified it as such, most likely) that we've had for several years. She's an indoor cat, and quite good. Mine will greet me,, and promptly roll over to have her belly rubbed.

Just as I would have said it. We've had one for about 4 years. Indoor cat and tolerates our 2 year old cat. She can be vocal when it's time for treats and will let you know when her food bowl is empty. Loves the belly rub and her nose scratched. Is very affectionate with me. Doesn't like strangers in the house and will hide till they leave. Would get another one in a heart beat. We got this one from the shelter.
