anyone have a Lipsey's Single 10 4 5/8" blue???????

I am thinking of buying one, and would like to ask a couple of questions.

How does it shoot?

Does it have just the front sight as a HiViz, of are both front and rear HiViz?

Owners or at least someone who has handled one on the second question please.

We've got all 3 of the current Single 10 models... Both Lipseys (8101 & 8102) as well as the regular 8100 model. We've only shot the 8100, but it does a dandy job! Wife loves it.

It seems to be very accurate & repeatable... And yes, both front & rear sights are fiber optic Hi-Viz on all 3 models. Just the ticket for us ole fartz who can't see anymore!

The 8100 "Standard" model is a 5" bbl, while the two Lipseys models are 4".

That does help. The Ruger site shows the standard as having HiViz front and rear, and only says HiViz front for the Lipsey model.

Thanks guys. I was going to buy one, but what I did not like about the original model was the HiViz rear sight. I have a replacement front sight, but like the new rear sight other than the bright lights on either side of the notch that are so bright I cannot clearly see the notch. I sold the original 5.5" SS one because of that, and when I saw the specs on the Ruger site, it only said HiViz front sight. You guys saved me from buying another one I would be unhappy with.

Except for speed shooting I don’t like fiber optic sights. I decided in spite of the sights I had to try a single ten. Mine is the 8100 model with the 5.5 inch barrel. I found I can disregard the green dots completely and get a normal sight picture with this setup.

It would be a simple matter to black out the fiber optics with a permanent marker but this sixgun is a keeper so, along with some action work, it will get a new front sight and probably a Bowen rear sight.

I’m glad I decided to give this one a try as it is turning out to be one of the most accurate sixguns I’ve ever owned.

“Tengun” just doesn’t sound right…… :?

I thought I would be able to as well when I bought one as they first came out. I shoot outside in my yard, and the bright sights made it impossible for me to see for a precise sight picture. I bought a new front sight but due to the problem with the rear sights, just sold the gun instead. Bowen makes an after market sight? I like the 10 shot cylinder but actually prefer the balance of the blued gun with the aluminum frame and was going to re-try one in blue.

I have the front sight already, and am going to go take a look at Bowen and may still get one if I can get sights I can use.

Why not just use an original Single Six rear sight?

I have one.
It's a shooter, best trigger from the factory of any single six I have other than a really well worn one I bought well used a decade ago.

Zeroed the left/right, elevation was on solid. Really likes the CCI 40gr round nosed ammo and does well with bulk dynapoints. Always goes to the range with me now.

Waiting to hear back from Ruger/Lipsey's. Still siting in the gunshop where I bought it. The action bound up while dry firing in the gunshop before taking delivery...seems to be the exception.

Never had a hi-viz gun before; indoor light (inside the shop) seemed to work great...now I'm skeptical about taking it outside. hmmmmm.

Does the blued one have a aluminum or steel grip frame?

aluminum. That was why I bought it instead of the stainless. Balances better and weighs 4 oz less
