Anyone ever seen a horn like this?

Saddle horn that is.

Watched an old 1953 western called The Silver Whip today. It was a pretty good old western with.

Anyway here's a pic with Robertson and Calhoun standing by a saddle. I've never seen a saddle horn that short in all my 70 years. Have any of you ever seen one like this? It's kind of a weird looking saddle.

If you mean Mexican, all the Mexican saddles I've seen had those giant oversize horns on them. Just open a google page and click on images and enter Mexican saddles.

Most didn't, but the link shows one with a horn. You can use the horn for saddle bags. Ie extra ammo, another revolver etc.

I think we have a winner here. I found this picture marked "Mother Hubbard Cheyenne style saddle circa 1870". Kind of an ugly saddle but I guess if one had to sit on it eight hours a day, it had it's merits.
